It has been a minute since I last tried an Urban Decay mascara. I haven’t used one since Perversion several years ago. I was really excited to receive this product complementary of Influenster and VoxBox so I could provide a review.

This ultra-pigmented, flake-proof mascara creates 23.6 times more volume and 40% more visible length for the boldest lashes. The asymmetrical brush was designed to load every eyelash with the max amount of formula for extreme volume and definition. The tip defines and separates even the tiniest of individual lashes, while the curved side adds lift at the lash root. The intensely black longwear formula lasts up to 20 hours; itβs smudge-proof and sweatproof.“
Review
The design and marketing is super unique – very UD from the early 2010s which is an era of aesthetic that I enjoy. Now for the actual component – it has a unique rubber wand that I have never seen before on a mascara. It’s bizarre looking, and definitely gives me Venus flytrap vibes. The longest side is used for lifting, the shorter side for volumizing, and the tip for defining. Again, this is a very unique feature.
Upon removing the wand from the main component, it does pick up a lot of product, so I had to wipe off the excess. The formula is liquid-y thick. Also, it is SUPER pigmented. It’s a very black mascara which I love (this is not for a no-makeup, makeup day).
Due to the unusual shape, large size of the brush, and the spiky bristles, I had to work slowly and methodically. Using the different side of the brush for specific things was a bit of a learning curve, so I had to keep in mind to volumize, lift, and define over and over again.
I was able to achieve really pretty lashes when using this product. It didn’t smudge, flake, or fall flat at the end of the day. It also does what it claims. I was out and about during a 90 degree day and it didn’t melt off. It’s not waterproof, but it is sweatproof.
After a couple weeks of continuous use, I can honestly say that I really like this mascara for its impact, pigment, and lasting power. I would say it’s surprisingly good, but not enough to break my Top 5 mascaras because it’s not a quick application – it takes time to work with, the shape and size slow things down, and the wand picks up excess product.
